MSN Messenger 7.5 在 Windows 2000 下, 其實是可以使用的,
微軟可能因為策略因素, 故意讓 MSN Messenger 7.5 在 Windows 2000 下無法安裝.
手動解法:
先用可以解 cab 檔的解壓軟體(如WinRAR)解出 MsnMsgs.msi
再用 Hex Editor 找 ASCII
Find ">=501"
Replace with ">= 500"
共有四處, 存起來後就可以在 Windows 2000 下安裝
500, 501 是 Operating System Property Values
7.5.0303 中文版 己更新, 加入上述的修改.
2005-09-21 Update: 已知有些 Windows 2000 電腦可能會遇到無法連線的問題(無法連線到Gateway),
目前不知道原因.

替換文件，我的win2000也能用MSN7.5
新版的MSN7.5要XP系統才能裝，我的機器是2000系統，提示for xp。。。
難道只能xp才能裝嗎？通過我測試發現只要你原來的win2000上安裝過msn messenger，那麼，你只需要將最新版的7.5.0299安裝目錄下的三個文件copy到老版本的msn messenger（比如原來的7.0.0816）目錄下就能使用了（該辦法已在w2k pro上試用通過）。這三個文件是：msidcrl.dll 、msnmsgr.exe、 msgslang.dll 。
這是從大陸網站找到的，還沒測試過，不知道有沒有幫助
我測試兩台 Windows 2000 的機器, 有一台出樣一樣的狀況(無法連線到 Gateway),目前還不曉得原因
我的作業系統是win2000，也已經安裝這個msn了，但是要連線的時候卻發生無法連線的錯誤，測試的結果是msn無法連線到gateway(其他軟體都可以連)，請問要怎麼解決?
