UNIX2DOS/DOS2UNIX 是個老東西了, 因為 Windows 的記事本看 UNIX 格式檔案會全部連成一行,
我還是常用 UNIX2DOS/DOS2UNIX for Win32 這程式, 由於它是 CLI 的程式, 整合到右鍵選單在處理時會跳出 CMD 視窗, 不是很理想,
所以另外寫個小程式 UNIX2DOS/DOS2UNIX for Windows 取代它,
在檔案上面按右鍵就可以轉.

fat32format

Windows XP 內建的 format 程式, 可以 format FAT32 的上限是 32G,
而事實上, FAT32 的最大分割區是 127G (FAT 32 檔案系統的限制)
若要 format 超過 32G 的 FAT32 分割區, 可以用 fat32format 這支程式, 還可以指定 cluster size.

Windows Installer CleanUp

Windows Installer CleanUp 可以移除 MSI 安裝檔的設定資訊, 若遇到軟體無法移除或重新安裝, 可以用此工具來處理.

Auto rotate pictures according to EXIF info

jhead + jpegtran 可以根據 EXIF 裡的 Orientation 欄位(註)對照片自動旋轉, 有善心人士做好方便使用的 安裝檔 了,
裝好後只在要照片的目錄按右鍵, 選「無失真自動旋轉」
註: 相機必需有 orientation sensor 才會有 Orientation 欄位記錄相機拍照時的角度,
不是每台相機都有 orientation sensor, DSLR 通常都有此功能

「亂倉打鳥」輸入法

亂倉打鳥 是改良型的倉頡輸入法，倉頡愛用者可參考看看。
根據作者 candyz 的說法: 「因為包含了倉頡三代、大新倉頡以及一些自創的規則，這樣一個 "亂" 七八糟的 "倉" 頡要 "打" 個什麼 "鳥" 啊？這就是【亂倉打鳥】命名的由來。 」
在 Linux 下可搭配 gcin 使用，現在也支援 Windows。
幫 亂倉打鳥 作了簡單的 安裝程式，下載後可直接安裝。

Windows XP: Enable concurrent remote desktop

Windows XP 原本提供多線遠端桌面登入的功能, 也就是 Windows 2000/2003 的 Terminal Services,
到了 SP2 final, 卻被拿掉了.
把 termsrv.dll 換成 SP2 RC1 的版本(版號 5.1.2600.2055), 再加上一些設定, 就可以開啟這個功能.
Windows XP 就變成 Terminal Server, 但是有一個限制: 同一個帳戶無法多重登入.
Unlimited concurrent remote desktop 這個網站提供了設定批次檔, 只要 install 就好了,
若 Windows XP 不是裝在 C:, 要先修改批次檔裡的磁碟機代號.

上個版本(3.4)在 FreeBSD, Solaris 等 make 卡住的問題 已解決.
上個版本在 screen 下使用時, 有時會發生移動游標導致文字顯示位移,
此時需按 Ctrl-R (refresh) 畫面才會正常, 再看看這版有沒有改善.

VistaBootPRO

用 Windows Vista 內建的 bcdedit.exe 編輯開機選單,
會出現:
The boot configuration data store could not be opened.
Access is denied.
不曉得是不是要用 Administrator 登入才能改?
但是用 VistaBootPRO 就可以改, 而且是 GUI 介面, 比起 bcdedit.exe 的 Command Line 方便多了 .

MS SQL 2005 SP1 installation hangs

在裝 MS SQL 2005 SP1 時, 解完就消失了, process 裡面看到 hotfix.exe 卡住,
試了好幾次都一樣, 試了第二台電腦也一樣,
查了資料結果: 只要有設環境變數 DIRCMD=/p , 就會造成 hotfix.exe 卡住, 在等待輸入.
我習慣 SET DIRCMD=/OGEN/P 所以就遇到這個問題.
解決方法: SET DIRCMD= 再裝 SP1

a-squared Anti-Malware

會用這套 a-squared Anti-Malware 是因為前幾天有朋友跟我反應 Pure WLM 被這套軟體掃出 Trojen.Win32.Agent.jp
心想絕對是誤判, 後來掃了官方的版本, 也一樣掃出 Trojen.Win32.Agent.jp, 並不是 Repack 後才造成誤判.
於是到 a-squared Support Forum 反應(Windows Live Messenger false posative), 很快就修正了, 更新 Pattern 後即正常.
在此順便聲明 Pure WLM 除了網頁上所列的修正項目外, 絕對不會加料,
修改程式 MSNPP 也有 Open Source, 改了什麼東西都很透明化.

2006-06-11 Update: 昨天有灌來玩玩看
PC 是 P4 2.8G + 1G RAM,
剛灌好就佔了 7.xG HD 空間, 開機進系統就要用掉 500MB 的 RAM,
若 RAM 不到 1G, 可以不用試了, 應該很慢.
真是個對硬體廠商利多的 OS.
這個版本可以用到 2007年五月底.
(Windows Vista Beta 2 (and RC1) is time-limited, pre-release software that will expire on June 1, 2007. )

2006-06-12 Update: 試了用 512MB 跑, 比預期中還快, 不過進桌面後 RAM 也沒剩多少了.
有些程式有相容性問題, 開了就會關閉.
隨便做個動作都要確認再三, 很麻煩.

Screen: Set Alternate Hot Key

Screen 預設是用 Crtrl-A 為 Hot Key, 而 Ctrl-A 在 Shell 下, 是到行首的意思.
若用慣了 Ctrl-A 到行首, 會不習慣 Screen 的 Hot Key,
個人是用 Ctrl-H, 加一行
escape ^Hh
到 /etc/screenrc 或 ~/.screenrc 即可
幾個原因
1. Ctrl-H = Backspace, 若習慣用 Backspace, Ctrl-H 用不到
2. H 的位置很好按
3. Ctrl-H H Switch to the previous window, 也很好按

PWNtcha - captcha decoder

看到 Tsung 這篇 破解 圖片辨識, 才知道用程式(PWNtcha - captcha decoder)來解讀 Captcha,
已有很高的辨識率, 大部份 Captcha 的弱點都是: 固定字型、固定位置、沒有顏色變化.
相反地, 若具有多種字型、變換位置、背景與字型有顏色變化, 就是好的 Captcha,
不過太過困難的 Captcha 有時連人也很難辨識, 像微軟 Passport 用的:

KB913433 只針對舊版 Flash Player, 而電腦大都已經裝了 8.0 以上的版本, 所以不用升級.
del %windir%\system32\Macromed\flash\*.ocx
即可, 刪除後 KB913433 就會自動消失.

看到 Eji的碎碎念 這篇文章.
得知 PieTTY 有未公開的參數 -putty 可以直接啟動 PuTTY 介面.
於是就找一下還有沒有其他的參數, 在 PieTTY 0.3.27 版執行檔 0x4b4dc 附近, 可以找到以下這些, 大部分是 ssh 的參數(man ssh).

PDF Password Remover 可以解除 PDF 的(密碼)保護, 如需要密碼才能開啟, 禁止編輯, 禁止複制, 禁止列印等.
用它開啟 PDF 後另存就立即解除保護, 不用算密碼.

Mplayer KK 版
據說是 TLF 高人 KK 自行修改編譯的版本.
解開就可以用, 內建各式 codecs, 幾乎可以撥放所有格式的檔案, 也不需灌字幕程式 VobSub, 會自動帶入字幕.
Mplayer官方 的 Win32 版本仍是 Console 模式, 要帶參數, 若要使用官方版, 可以配合 MPF (MPlayer + Frontend)

Gnutella

Gnutella 是一種不需中央伺服器的 P2P 協定.
一開始是由 AOL 的工程師在 2000 年寫了第一個 Client 以 GPL 公開讓大家下載, 雖然隔天就被 AOL 撤下, 但是 Gnutella 網路已經開啟.
沒多久, Gnutella 協定被人以逆向工程破解, 從此 Gnutella 相容的 Client 陸續誕生.
Gnutella 網路因為沒有中央伺服器, 所以很難關掉, 只要網路上有兩個以上個 Client, Gnutella 就會繼續存在.

Sendmail exploit again

Sendmail 這個古老的 MTA, 又爆出嚴重漏洞(Advisory)
此漏洞可讓攻擊者以 Sendmail 執行者身份(通常是 root)執行任何程式, Sendmail 8.13.5 之前的版本都受影響.
還在用 Sendmail 的人可以考慮換到 Postfix.

Bogofilter

Bogofilter 最近出了 1.0.2 版.
大概在去年底時, 看了 gslin 的介紹, 開始使用 bogofilter-qdbm
用 tar ball 安裝的話, ./configure --with-database=qdbm
使用 qdbm 的速度感覺非常快!
可以調整 bogofilter.cf 裡的 ham_cutoff, spam_cutoff 以適合自己的需求,
0 為 ham, 1 為 spam
ham_cutoff 預設值 0.45, 我使用 0.48
spam_cutoff 預設值 0.99, 我使用 0.85
介於 ham_cutoff, spam_cutoff 的, 會分類為 Unsure
這類使用 Bayesian filtering 的程式, 訓練後開始使用, 很快就能達到九成以上的準確率,
再經長時間訓練, 準確率會有一個上限, 根據個人使用經驗, 很難超過 98%, 要達 100% 簡直是不可能.
Bogofilter 使用四個月, 準確率約 96%
POPFile 使用一年半, 準確率 97.35%
有這樣的準確率而且沒有誤判, 已經很棒了!

Kademlia

Kademlia 是一種 overlay network protocol,
在現有的網路上建構一個 overlay network (虛擬網路或重疊網路), 每個節點使用 Node ID 來識別, 用 UDP 來溝通.
Kademlia 常應用在 P2P 的檔案分享, 和 eD2K 網路不同的是, Kademlia 不需要中央伺服器, 已有多種軟體使用此協定.

Foxit Reader 是個小巧免費的 PDF reader, 只要一個檔案, 綠色軟體 (1.3 版 2.58MB)
Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0.7 版裝完後要 60MB, 又慢又肥.
該公司另一套 Foxit PDF Editor 也很讚, 用來編輯 PDF 檔.
比 Adobe Acrobat Professional 好用多了.

System Volume Information

Windows XP/2003 下的 System Volume Information 資料夾, 是「系統還原」工具用來儲存其資訊與還原點的地方.
電腦的每一個磁碟分割上都有一個 [System Volume Information] 資料夾.
當發現磁碟的已使用空間和檔案全選的大小有很大差距時, 很可能就是 System Volume Information 所造成.
在預設的狀況下, 查看 System Volume Information 的大小都是 0 (因為沒有權限),
參考 如何存取 System Volume Information 資料夾 打開權限.
可以用 Unlocker 強制刪除 System Volume Information 裡面的東西(無法完刪除, 但是可以清除大部分的檔案), 我試過並不會有什麼問題.

ServerAlias 這個參數還滿好用的, 之前還傻傻地用了多個 VirtualHost block 來表示.

Kaspersky Anti-Hacker

平常都躲在 FreeBSD、Linux 的後面, 一直都沒去嘗試 Client 端的防火牆軟體.
最近裝了 Kaspersky Anti-Hacker, 滿容易使用的, 只要程式有任何未知的網路動作, 會立刻秀出訊息, 讓使用者可以做放行或阻檔的動作.
即使中了木馬、病毒, 當木馬、病毒要傳送資料出去時, 也能即時加以攔截.
Kaspersky Anti-Hacker 可以抓到任何要偷偷傳送資料的木馬、病毒、廣告程式、惡意程式, 光這一點就很好用了.
另外, 它會記住執行檔的 Checksum, 一但被改了會馬上通知.

Outlook Express .dbx file 2G limitation

我本身沒在用 Outlook Express (以下簡稱 OE), 但是常有朋友問我 OE 的問題, 把一些心得寫下來
Outlook Express 所使用 .dbx 檔案的最大檔案大小資訊
OE 所使用的 dbx 有最大 2G 的限制, 當到達此限制時, 可能會
1. 無法收信
2. 信件全部消失

1. 發生的原因是檔案無法再寫入, 於是信就收不下來
解決方法: 把 dbx 檔改名, 如把 收件匣.dbx 改名為 收件匣2005.dbx, 重新啟動 OE,
再去 收件匣2005 把信件歸納到其他分類
(註: 工具/選項/維護/郵件檔資料夾 可查看儲存位置)

2. 可能 dbx 檔有毀損
微軟提供的解決方法:
1. 檔案/離線工作, 避免有新的新件收進來
2. 資料夾停留在 Outlook Express, 保持沒有資料夾在開啟狀態
3. 關閉左邊的資料夾列表, 也可以由 檢視/版面配置 設定
4. 檔案/資料夾/壓縮所有資料夾, 在動作時, 不要使用電腦
5. 如果有發生錯誤, 重新啟動 Outlook Express, 再從第一步驟開始,
   若還是一樣有錯誤, 重新開機, 再從第一步驟開始

萬一還是無法解決, 試試 Advanced Outlook Express Repair, DBXtract 等軟體

Gaim 2.0

Gaim 出了 2.0 beta 版.
官方提供的 RPM 有 rh9, fc1~fc4, mdk10.2, 已經沒有 mdk10.0 的 RPM, mdk10.0 的使用者可以用 fc1 的 RPM.

現在軟碟幾乎是用不到了, 但是有些時候, 仍需軟碟才能使用 (例如某些建立開機片的程式)
Virtual Floppy Drive 是個虛擬軟碟軟體, 可以 Mount 軟碟的 Image, 使用上和實體軟碟沒什麼不同,
可以做檔案處理, 也可以 Format.
軟碟的 Image 可以用 WinImage 來建立.

NdisWrapper

NdisWrapper 可以把 Windows 下的無線網卡 Driver, 搬到 Linux 下使用, NDIS = Network Driver Interface Specification.
支援的網卡列表
在編譯時需要 Kernel Source, 用 KSRC 指定位置
make KSRC=/usr/src/linux-2.4.32 install
該用 Windows 98/ME 還是 Windows 2000/XP 的 Driver 呢?
我試的結果是 Windows 2000/XP 的可以用, 用 Windows 98/ME 的 Driver 會顯示 invalid driver
以 D-Link DWL-G520 為例:
ndiswrapper -i NetA3AB.inf # 安裝 Driver, 會裝到 /etc/ndiswrapper 下
ndiswrapper -l # 查看是否有偵測到
若一切正常, 會顯示
Installed ndis drivers:
neta3ab driver present, hardware present
modprobe ndiswrapper # 掛入 ndiswrapper module
然後就可看到 wlan0

OpenOffice.org 2.0 is here, but is it a pig?
這篇文章比較 OpenOffice 的 Calc 和 Microsoft 的 Excel 的效能, 還有各程式所耗用的記憶體比較, OpenOffice 明顯遜色很多.
Microsoft 有作業系統優勢, OpenOffice 慢一點無可厚非, 就目前測試數據來看, OpenOffice 仍有很大的進步空間.

VMware Player

VMware Player 是 VMware 新釋出的免費軟體, 有 Windows 及 Linux 版.
VMware Player 只能讀取 VMware 或 Virtual PC 的存檔, 無法建立新的虛擬電腦, 也無法做細部的組態設定,
面板上只可以設定 CD-ROM、Ethernet、Audio 開啟或關閉.
它可以讀取 Virtual PC 存檔這一點, 我覺得很棒.

新酷音輸入法

我平常用倉頡輸入法, 但還是要推一下這套以 GPL 釋出的 新酷音輸入法
目前有 Linux、Windows 版

IMETool

IMETool 可以調整 Windows 輸入法順序, 並可以設定輸入法 Hot Key.
作者的網頁 還有其他好用工具, 例如 UE Helper 輔助 UltraEdit, 找 Unicode 字串.

NET2COM

NET2COM 這個軟體能做 網路 <-> COM Port 訊號轉換, 跟 PuTTY 搭配使用可以讓 PuTTY 連 Serial Console
選好 COM Port, 設定速度(如9600), 再指定一個 Port (如7777), 按 Start 開始 LISTENING
PuTTY 設定: Host 填 localhost, Port 跟上面的 Port 一樣, Protocol 選 Raw
Terminal / Line discipline options 兩個都選 Force off
若關掉 PuTTY, NET2COM 的狀態會變成 CLOSING, 要再連的話必需 STOP/START

裝好後, 參考 Setting up chrooted sftp in linux 建造 user 的 chroot 環境, 再把 user 的 home 設為 /home/user/./home/user

sftp logging patch for OpenSSH 可以讓 OpenSSH 的 sftp 有 log 的功能
裝好後, 在 sshd_config 加入 LogSftp yes
log 會記錄在 /var/log/auth.log
若看不到 log, 請檢視 /etc/syslog.conf 裡 auth 的設定

Resize-O-Matic

Resize-O-Matic 和 Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP 裡的 Image Resizer 幾乎一樣, 不曉得誰抄誰?
Image Resizer 只能在 Widows XP 安裝, Resize-O-Matic 可以在 Windows 2000 下安裝.

Unlock MSN Messenger 7.5 for Windows 2000

MSN Messenger 7.5 在 Windows 2000 下, 其實是可以使用的,
微軟可能因為策略因素, 故意讓 MSN Messenger 7.5 在 Windows 2000 下無法安裝.
手動解法:
先用可以解 cab 檔的解壓軟體(如WinRAR)解出 MsnMsgs.msi
再用 Hex Editor 找 ASCII
Find ">=501"
Replace with ">= 500"
共有四處, 存起來後就可以在 Windows 2000 下安裝
500, 501 是 Operating System Property Values
7.5.0303 中文版 己更新, 加入上述的修改.
2005-09-21 Update: 已知有些 Windows 2000 電腦可能會遇到無法連線的問題(無法連線到Gateway),
目前不知道原因.

PDF to DOC by using Microsoft Office Document Image Writer

Microsoft 2003 有一個虛擬印表機 Microsoft Office Document Image Writer
安裝時需勾選 (Office 工具 / Microsoft Document Imaging / Microsoft Office Document Image Writer)
使用這個虛擬印表機, 可以把任可文件列印成 Microsoft Document Imaging (mdi) 格式
可以用這方式把 PDF 轉為 DOC
在 Adobe Acrobat Reader 列印某 PDF 文件, 印表機選擇 Microsoft Office Document Image Writer, 存成 mdi 格式
開啟該 mdi 檔
工具 / 傳送文字到 Word
Microsoft Office Document Image 用 OCR 的方式, 辨識文字後傳到 Word,
這種方式效果不是很好, 文字部分有可能辨識錯誤, 轉換後也會失去原來的版面格式.

有一些 3rd party 的商業軟體可以轉 PDF to DOC, 如 Solid Converter PDF, Convert Doc
轉出來的版面和原檔接近.

Free RAMDisk for Windows 2K/XP/2K3

QSoft RAMDisk 有一套 Free RAMDisk for Windows2K/XP/2K3, 最高支援到 64MB.
我通常把瀏覽器的 cache 設到 RAMDisk, 加快流覽速度, 另一個好處是不用清 cache, 重開機就沒了.

PieTTY 0.3.27 無法啟動問題

電腦 Ghost 回復後, 發現 PieTTY 無法啟動, 到官網看果然有
Known Issue 已知問題: 第一次使用 PieTTY 時，若直接選 PuTTY 舊設定會連線失敗。 請先隨便手動連線後即可正常使用。
也就是說在主機名稱或 IP 位址隨便打個位址連線後即正常

Ext2 Installable File System For Windows

Ext2 Installable File System For Windows 可以讓 Windows 讀寫 Ext2/Ext3 的 Partition
目前這套應是功能最完整的, 可以讀寫, 又有完整介面(在控制台內), 比另一套可讀寫的 Ext2fsd 好用.
不過中文目錄有些問題, 在建新資料夾時會有無法建立的訊息,
而事實上, 已建了兩個目錄:"新資料夾"、"新資料夾 (2)", 中文目錄無法進入.
其他類似功能的軟體:
