iSCSI

ISCSI 為 Internet Small Computer Systems Interface
顧名思義, 網路 SCSI
它是透過 IP 網路將 SCSI 區塊資料轉換成網路封包的一種傳輸標準,
它和 NAS 一樣透過 IP 網路來傳輸資料, 但在資料存取方式上,
則與 NAS 的 File Protocol 方式不同, 而採 Block Protocol 協定

Client 端只要安裝 iSCSI driver, 即可以使用 iSCSI 裝置
微軟 Windows 2003 開始支援 iSCSI, 並提供iSCSI Initiator 驅動程式的下載

預期 2005 年將是 iSCSI 出頭年, 開始推展的領域會以中小企業為主

ICQ 的凋零

ICQ 的凋零, 可以從好友上線名單看出來, 現在我的 ICQ 上的上線名單,
通常是個位數. ICQ 之所以被後起之秀(MSN, Yahoo)幹掉,
我認為主要原因有:

沒有友善的介面
稍早的 ICQ 版本, 設定介面實在煩雜, 讓想用的人退卻三分,
後來推出的 ICQ Lite 版本, 改善許多, 但是為時已晚

沒有多國語系
稍早的 ICQ 版本, 只有英文版, 後來推出的 ICQ Lite 版本, 有多國語系,
但也為時已晚

Sage RSS Reader

Firefox 裝了 Sage 這個 extension 就有 RSS reader 功能,
這功能還滿好用的, 可以用來訂閱有支援 RSS 的網站

這並不是什麼噱頭, 每道題目都是讓數學家百思不得其解的經典難題

霍奇(Hodge)猜想

納維葉-斯托克斯(Navier-Stokes)方程的存在性與光滑性

P (多項式算法)問題對NP (非多項式算法)問題

龐加萊(Poincare)猜想

黎曼(Riemann)假設

楊-米爾斯(Yang-Mills)存在性和質量缺口

其中龐加萊(Poincare)猜想已經被俄國數學家破解, 不過他對獎金沒興趣

MD5 hash collision

最近有一個新聞是 MD5 被大陸王小云教授破解

簡單的說是可以造出不同的密碼、檔案, 卻有相同的 MD5, 稱之為 hash collision
這是否代表 MD5 末日?
我對此持保留看法, 以 unix 上的密碼來說,
需要 root 權限才能拿到 password shadow file, 並不會有什麼影響

Sender ID

Sender ID 是由微軟所主導的 Anti-Spam 機制, 不過 Open Source 業界似乎不領情, 如 Apache, Debian 先後表示不支持 Sender ID
主要原因大致大有兩點

違背 Open Souce 精神
(Apache: 我們相信目前的授權大致上與開放原始碼不相容, 有悖於開放網路標準的常規, 特別與Apache License 2.0 不相容)
(Debian: Sender ID 和 Debian Free Software Guidelines 相抵觸)

授權條件過於嚴苛

Gmail 密技

太多信在 Inbox 太雜了，可以按 [Archive]，郵件在 All Mail 仍找得到。

使用一陣子 Gmail 後，Inbox 上方藍底白字的橫 Bar
"You have 6 Gmail invitations. Invite a friend to join Gmail!"
這時你可以邀請你的朋友一起使用 Gmail。讓愛傳出去!

可自設 Labels 將郵件分門別類。同一封信可以有多個 Label。

寄英文信前按一下 [Check spelling] 試試看, 超神奇的。

太短的信有可能被誤判為 Spam，有空去看一下，順便清一清。

Gmail 帳號 ID 中間可以任意加上「.」。
例如: your.id@gmail.com = yourid@gmail.com

寄給 Gmail 帳號 ID 後面加上「+」之後可以任意打字。
例如: seantw+family@gmail.com, seantw+friend@gmail.com

Google 提供了 Gmail Notifier 在 Windows 的系統工具列提示您的來郵。
會浮出郵件標題和摘要，中文也可通。

Gmail 只對英文郵件顯示相關廣告。中文郵件不會有任何廣告。

把 Gmail 當作記事本。建個叫「筆記」的 Label。
設 Filter 為 From: your.id+notes@gmail.com 動作為 Apply the label: 筆記
從別的信箱寄給自己，例如寄到: your.id+notes@gmail.com

GmailFS

準備下列檔案

安裝 fuse, 開機 kernel 所用的 gcc 需和 compile fuse 所用的版本一致
(參考README-2.4, 我的環境使用 Mandrake 10, kernel 2.4.26)
# tar zxf fuse-1.3.tar.gz
# cd fuse-1.3
# ./configure --with-kernel=/usr/src/linux
# make install

載入 module, 若無法載入, 重編 kernel, 再用那個 kernel 開機試試
# insmod fuse

安裝 python FUSE module, 需先安裝 libpython2.3-devel rpm
# tar zxf fuse-python.tar.gz
# cd fuse-python
# python setup.py build
# python setup.py install

安裝 libgmail
# tar zxf libgmail-0.0.8.tgz
# cd libgmail-0.0.8
# cp libgmail.py constants.py /usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages

安裝 gmailfs
# tar zxf gmailfs.tar.gz
# cd gmailfs
# cp gmailfs.py /usr/local/bin
# cp mount.gmailfs /sbin
# ln -s /sbin/mount.gmailfs /sbin/mount.fuse

修改 /usr/local/bin/gmailfs.py 中的 DefaultUsername, DefaultPassword

mount GmailFS!
# mount -t fuse /usr/local/bin/gmailfs.py /mnt
# df
Filesystem 1M-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda6 3938 3462 276 93% /
gmailfs 1000 56 944 6% /mnt

完成, 在 /mnt 會看到一個空的目錄, 可以作檔案存取動作, 由於網路速度上的限制,
我覺得實用性不大

備分 Skype 聯絡人

Skype 聯絡人存放位置

「Documents and Settings」，找到登入Windows系統時的帳號名稱檔案夾，再利用滑鼠點進去，點選透明的「Application Data」後，找到Skype的檔案夾，點進去後，可以看到Skype帳號名稱，複製下來，再依同樣的方式備份到新電腦中
